Taste of China

Taste of China

The people were so incredibly friendly. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve experienced this much hospitality in any other country. After living in Germany for so many years, I think I had almost forgotten what that kind of welcome feels like.

Every evening, we went somewhere special. Of course, I was lucky to be travelling with two big bosses. They were invited to a different place every night, and so was I! Sometimes being part of the entourage has its advantages. XD

Economy on the plane, VIP treatment on the ground. I can live with that! 😉

But seriously, I really appreciated how much effort our hosts put into welcoming us. Those evenings were a lovely chance to spend time together outside work and get to know the people behind the meetings and emails.

Before the trip, one of my bosses scared me to death by telling me that if frog was served, I would have to eat it, otherwise I would offend our hosts and disrespect their culture. I thought, oh no, what have I up for?! 😂

But it wasn’t like that at all! Nobody pressured me to eat anything. My colleagues were so thoughtful about what I could and couldn’t eat. All that worrying for nothing! XD
